With my debut book, Spellbound: A Fantasy Short Story Collection now out in the world, I thought it might be fun to introduce myself and share a few tidbits about me and my writing.
I was thinking of doing an Ask Me Anything over on Instagram but just in case no one asks any questions, I figured this could be a fun alternative. (And there's the first thing to know about me: self-doubt is my constant companion.) I've enjoyed writing for as long as I can remember. I used to play around on my grandparents' typewriter, creating new stories and rewriting stories I'd read that I wished had ended differently. The first story I remember writing was about a young girl who discovered a magical portal inside a lighthouse. When she stepped through the portal she was transported to an underwater world where she could speak to the fish and other creatures (I watched A LOT of Bedknobs and Broomsticks as a child.)

I have some exciting news to share with you today - Spellbound: A Fantasy Short Story Collection has an official release date! I'm not going to announce it here just yet (because I like to tease) but keep your eyes peeled for a video letting you know when pre-orders are open.
For now though, I've had a lot of fun creating a playlist and mood board for this book over on Pinterest and Spotify. A snippet of the mood board is blow, just click on it to visit Pinterest. It's full of images that I feel really vibe with the characters in my stories, and I'm ridiculously excited to bring them into the world. The playlist is entirely bizarre and includes songs by Frank Sinatra, Taylor Swift, Celine Dion and Duran Duran. A bit like the characters in Spellbound, these songs are very varied, but somehow they seem to work together. I hope you enjoy! Check out the mood board:

Spellbound is a collection of ten short stories, each containing magic in one form or another. From mischievous werewolves and revenge-thirsty demons to haunted houses and Vampires who aren't afraid to bite, this compilation of flash and short fiction explores what happens when the magical meets the mundane, and the sparks it creates as they entwine.
